Retreat Team Member

The Emmaus Centre is looking for a  Retreat Team Member who will assist in delivering the Emmaus Centre’s religious and spiritual outreach to youth through the primary and secondary schools retreat programmes.  This is a flexible Part–Time, 9-month position.

Core Responsibilities:

School Retreat Programme

  • Deliver on average 2-5 school retreats per week from September to May for primary and secondary schools as part of the School Retreat Team by leading talks, testimonies, small groups, games, music and dramas
  • Deliver new school programmes proclaiming the Gospel message, utilizing educational resources for the formation and evangelization of youth in conjunction with the Youth & Young Adult Ministry Coordinator

 Youth Ministry

  • Deliver a youth ministry programme that engages children and teenagers outside of the school setting to foster a relationship with Jesus Christ in conjunction with the Youth & Young Adult Ministry Coordinator

Young Adult Ministry

  • Help to facilitate and host programmes that challenge and encourage young adults to embrace and fully live out their Catholic Faith.

Be willing to undertake any other duties commensurate with the post.

Essential Skills and Attributes:

  • At least 1 years’ experience working in Youth and Young Adult Ministry
  • Academic qualification in Theology, Counseling, Youth Ministry, Education or Religious Studies preferred
  • Must be an excellent communicator with a proven ability to deliver retreats and talks on the Catholic faith to youth and young adults
  • Must be detail-orientated and self-motivated with a proven ability to deliver a vibrant and dynamic ministry programme
  • Must be strongly customer-focused and able to work in group settings
  • Must understand Child Protection legislation
  • Should be a person of Christian faith who is able to articulate the faith to others
  • A proven ability to lead music ministry welcomed

Remuneration

 A competitive salary, commensurate with experience based will be offered for the role along with a pension contribution (after completion of probation).

The contract for employment will be a 9-month fixed term contract with 6 months probationary period.

Maintenance Person (Part-Time)

We are looking for a skilled part-time Maintenance person, with experience in a wide range of areas to carry out the general maintenance of our facilities in North County Dublin.

The Role
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will support in areas such as plumbing, carpentry and electrics to ensure that all systems remain operational on a 7-day per week basis.

Responsibilities
• Preventative and emergency maintenance of all Emmaus facilities, ensuring everything is working well, and fully operational on a continuous basis.
• Knowledge and hands-on practical experience of problem-solving of all facilities-based equipment
• Small project-based work – Basic carpentry, plumbing and electrical upkeep, painting, cleaning, and plastering etc.
• Recording and reporting all faults and damages / carrying out inspections on jobs and prepare preventative maintenance
• Available for call-out during evenings and weekends
Skills Needed
• Have good general knowledge of Plumbing, Mechanical / Electrical, Painting, Tiling, Carpentry, Furniture and Fixtures and can use both electric and manual tools.
• Preferably have previous experience of a similar position
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Possess a polite and professional manner
• Can prioritize tasks in a busy working environment
• Be strongly customer focused and aware of customer needs at all times
• can work on their own initiative
• Have a proactive, flexible and professional working approach
• Full, Clean Driving License
