‘May you listen to your longing to be free’ John O’ Donohue
The invitation is to come away to a day of mindfulness and heartfulness practice to discover what matters most for you at this time. The workshop takes place in the beautiful surroundings and warm hospitality of Emmaus Retreat and Conference Centre with morning and afternoon coffee, and two course lunch.
Our preparations for Christmas often overwhelm us with occasions for waiting. We wait in line at shops. We wait for Christmas bonuses and holidays from work, traveling relatives, the post, the Christmas cake in the oven to finish baking, and for Chrismas morning to arrive. Waiting is not, however, a passive action.
With mindfulness we become aware of the judgemental mind, and of our tendency to find fault in the way things are. Through the practice of mindfulness instead of judging and blaming we begin to cultivate the clarity to know what has to be accepted, and to recognise where we need to make some changes.
We will practice sitting and walking meditations, mindful movement, body scan as well as sound awareness. This retreat is for beginners as well as for those with some experience in mindfulness meditation. Please wear comfortable layered clothing, and bring along a rug and cushion and yoga mat if you have one.
