Fr. Colm Mannion O.P
I come from Birr in County Offaly. After leaving school I moved to Dublin and began working with Ryanair. During this time, I became involved with the Legion of Mary, particularly the work they do with the Morning Star Hostel for homeless men. In 2004, at the age of 23 I decided to leave my job with Raynair and work as a full time volunteer in the Morning Star hostel. It was during this time that I began to discern a religious vocation and 3 years later, would enter the novitiate in Limerick. I then began my studies for the priesthood in St. Saviours and was ordained in July 2014. After ordination I spent a further 3 years studying with the Dominicans in the Province of St. Joseph in the U.S.A. I completed the STL at the Dominican House of Studies in Washington DC in May 2017 and returned to Ireland. I spent just over a year in Dundalk where I was chaplain in the Friary school and director of the Youth Group. I was then appointed vocations director for the Province, and more recently took on the role of promoter of the Rosary Confraternity. I continue to play an active role with the Legion of Mary and am currently the spiritual director for the Morning Star Hostel.

He has been playing music with Fr Colm for many years. They have played many traditional Irish sessions around the country. Being unsatisfied with much of the Christian music today they are now recording and performing a new experimental Christian form of music called ‘Tradoration’ which combines trad with prayer.
