An evening for a nice cup of tea & inspiring book discussion, as we venture into the great spiritual writers.
All are welcome to attend The Emmaus Reading Group on Tuesday evenings from 7:30 pm until 9:00 pm at the Emmaus Centre.
This year we will be reading The Confessions of St. Augustine, Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankel, The Everlasting Man by G.K. Chesterton, Thirsting for Prayer by Jacques Phillippe, and Climbing the Mountain by Anne, a Lay Apostle.
We will be kicking off with the Confessions of St. Augustine on the 10th of September. In his Confessions, St. Augustine recounts his journey from a conflicted young man, torn between faith and world views, to his belief in Christianity and becoming one of its most influential thinkers. In his remarkably honest and revealing spiritual autobiography, the Confessions also address fundamental issues of Christian doctrine and explore many of the prayers and meditations that are in practice today.
Copies of the book will be provided on the night for €10.
